Maximize Your Credit Card Rewards

What is CardPointers?

CardPointers is a comprehensive app and browser extension designed to optimize your credit card spending. It helps you track rewards and bonuses, ensuring you always take advantage of the best offers available. Additionally, it monitors benefits that may be limited on a monthly or annual basis, relieving you of the need to remember them yourself.

For instance, I have a Southwest Rapid Rewards Card that offers four Upgraded Boardings each year. With CardPointers, I can easily track how many I’ve used and how many are left, along with other benefits from my various cards.

Before diving into the features, let’s discuss pricing:

  • For free, CardPointers provides a limited set of features, allowing you to add one card and track its usage without any cost.
  • CardPointers+ is available for just $6 per month or $72 per year, enabling you to track all your credit cards and access a plethora of features.

⭐ First, explore what CardPointers can do, and check out our special offer for Best Wallet Hacks readers.

How to Set up CardPointers

To get started, visit CardPointers.com and download the app for your device. It supports Apple, Android, Chrome, and Firefox.

Once you open the app, simply add all the credit cards you use. You don’t need to input your credit card numbers; just the card names will suffice (e.g., Chase Freedom, American Express Gold).

CardPointers will track cashback schedules, bonuses, and limits for you without needing your actual credit card number. They support over 5,000 cards in the U.S. and Canada.

📅 A useful feature allows you to record the date your card was approved, enabling you to track when the annual fee is due. This way, you can call for retention offers or cancel the card if necessary.

The tracking of monthly limits is particularly clever. While you must track this manually, it’s a helpful feature.

Pointers Tab: Always Know The Best Card To Use

After adding your cards, the Pointers section will display the best card to use for each category. No more guessing which card is optimal!

If you’re comfortable with CardPointers knowing your location, you can enable AutoPilot. This feature recommends the best card to use based on your current location. For instance, if you’re at Target, it will suggest the most beneficial card for that store. You can easily toggle AutoPilot on and off within the app.

For a unique experience, the “Pointers in AR” feature uses your camera to scan the store and recommend the best card to use. While it may seem excessive, it’s certainly an interesting feature.

Offers Tab: Lists All Limited Time Offers

The Offers Tab is invaluable as it tracks all special offers and allows you to update limits directly on the screen. I often forget smaller offers, especially when using services like Instacart or DoorDash. However, I’m willing to open the app and check for a $10 credit, as it’s like picking up free money.

Using the browser extension enhances the Offers feature even further.

Chrome/Safari Extension: Activates Offers

My favorite feature is the CardPointers X browser extension (available for Chrome and Safari). This extension activates all the special offers linked to your accounts, supporting American Express, Chase, Bank of America, and Citi.

For example, Chase may offer $250 if you spend $1,000 or more at Tonal. Wouldn’t you want to activate that offer before making a significant purchase? The CardPointers extension simplifies this process by activating all offers automatically.

Once activated, you’ll see a green check next to the offers, confirming they’re ready to use.

Summary

While I typically use just a couple of credit cards daily, I’m excited to add more to CardPointers to ensure I’m not missing out on potential rewards.

The browser extension is a significant draw for me. I know my Chase and American Express cards offer numerous special deals, but I prefer not to sift through pages of offers. Instead, I’d rather let my needs dictate spending and enjoy the surprise of a discount.

For $72 a year, I can ensure that every offer is activated, and before making major purchases, I’ll double-check CardPointers to ensure I’m not missing any valuable offers or cashback opportunities.
