By examining the underlying holdings of these ETFs, we compared the trading prices of each holding against the average analyst 12-month forward target prices. This allowed us to compute the weighted average implied analyst target price for the ETF itself. For the SPDR Portfolio S&P 600 Small Cap ETF (Symbol: SPSM), we discovered that the implied analyst target price is $53.42 per unit.

Currently, SPSM is trading at approximately $45.93 per unit, indicating that analysts anticipate a 16.32% upside for this ETF based on the average targets of its underlying holdings. Notably, three of SPSM’s underlying holdings exhibit significant upside potential relative to their analyst target prices: Forward Air Corp (Symbol: FWRD), Corsair Gaming Inc (Symbol: CRSR), and PENN Entertainment Inc (Symbol: PENN). FWRD, trading at a recent price of $20.82 per share, has an average analyst target price that is 74.51% higher at $36.33 per share. Similarly, CRSR shows a potential upside of 39.59% from its recent share price of $7.97, with an average target price of $11.12 per share. Analysts also expect PENN to reach a target price of $22.50 per share, representing a 32.98% increase from its recent price of $16.92.

Below is a twelve-month price history chart comparing the stock performance of FWRD, CRSR, and PENN:

Here’s a summary table of the current analyst target prices discussed above:

Name

Symbol

Recent Price

Avg. It’s essential to consider whether analysts have valid justifications for their targets or if they are lagging behind recent developments in the companies and their respective industries. A high price target relative to a stock’s trading price can reflect optimism about future growth, but it may also signal potential downgrades if those targets are based on outdated information. These are critical questions that warrant further investigation by investors.

10 ETFs With Most Upside To Analyst Targets »

Also see:

        • Institutional Holders of VCXB
• LAB YTD Return
• Funds Holding COST

The views and opinions expressed herein are the views and opinions of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of Nasdaq, Inc.

At ETF Channel, we have conducted an in-depth analysis of the ETFs within our coverage universe.
