By examining the underlying holdings of each ETF, we compared their trading prices against the average analyst 12-month forward target prices. This allowed us to compute the weighted average implied analyst target price for the ETFs. For the First Trust NASDAQ Technology Dividend Index Fund ETF (Symbol: TDIV), we discovered that the implied analyst target price stands at $109.64 per unit.

Currently, TDIV is trading at approximately $98.87 per unit, indicating that analysts anticipate a 10.90% upside for this ETF based on the average target prices of its underlying holdings. Notably, three of TDIV’s underlying holdings exhibit significant upside potential relative to their analyst target prices: Opera Ltd (Symbol: OPRA), ASE Technology Holding Co Ltd (Symbol: ASX), and STMicroelectronics NV (Symbol: STM). For instance, OPRA is currently priced at $16.50 per share, while the average analyst target is a substantial 60.61% higher at $26.50 per share. Similarly, ASX shows an 18.82% upside from its recent price of $11.32, with an average target price of $13.45 per share. Analysts also expect STM to reach a target price of $31.56 per share, which is 11.57% above its recent price of $28.29. Below is a twelve-month price history chart comparing the stock performance of OPRA, ASX, and STM:

Here’s a summary table of the current analyst target prices discussed above:

Name

Symbol

Recent Price

Avg. Do they have valid reasons for their projections, or are they lagging behind recent developments in the companies and the industry? A high price target compared to a stock’s current trading price can indicate optimism, but it may also foreshadow potential downgrades if those targets are based on outdated information. Investors should conduct further research to navigate these complexities.

10 ETFs With Most Upside To Analyst Targets »

Also see:

        • Earnings Surprises
• TSTY Videos
• NAKD YTD Return

The views and opinions expressed herein are the views and opinions of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of Nasdaq, Inc.

At ETF Channel, we have conducted an in-depth analysis of the ETFs within our coverage universe.
