What is Sharetown?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

More and more online stores sell their products with no-questions-asked refund policies. For example, many mattress and furniture companies allow you to test out the product for a month, and if you don\u2019t like it, you can return it for free. This policy encourages customers to buy since they can\u2019t test items beforehand.<\/p>\n

And, this is where Sharetown comes in.<\/p>\n

Sharetown<\/a> is a return logistics company that partners with retailers to handle oversized product returns \u2013 such as mattresses, furniture, and fitness equipment.<\/p>\n

Instead of sending returned items back to a warehouse (which can be costly and environmentally unfriendly), Sharetown uses local \u201creps\u201d to pick up, store, and resell these items locally.<\/p>\n

This approach helps recover value from returned items, reduces landfill waste, and provides opportunities for individuals to make extra money<\/a> from home.<\/p>\n

How does Sharetown work?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you sign up to become a Sharetown rep, here\u2019s what the process looks like:<\/p>\n

  1. Receive a pickup request<\/strong> \u2013 You\u2019ll be notified through the Sharetown app when there\u2019s an oversized item to pick up in your area.<\/li>\n
  2. Pick up the item<\/strong> \u2013 Go to the customer\u2019s home, pick up the item (usually a mattress or similar), and bring it back to your storage space. You don\u2019t pay for the mattress when you pick it up; it\u2019s like free inventory for you to sell!<\/li>\n
  3. Clean and sanitize<\/strong> \u2013 Before selling, you must clean and sanitize the item, as required by Sharetown.<\/li>\n
  4. List it for sale<\/strong> \u2013 Take photos and list the item on platforms like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, etc. You handle the selling.<\/li>\n
  5. Sell the item<\/strong> \u2013 Once sold, deliver it to the buyer or arrange for them to pick it up.<\/li>\n
  6. Get paid<\/strong> \u2013 The Sharetown app facilitates payment options for buyers, such as debit\/credit card, Venmo, or cash. You keep your portion immediately, and Sharetown receives its cut after the sale.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This model differs from traditional flipping since you don\u2019t pay upfront for inventory. You only owe Sharetown their share once the item sells.<\/p>\n
