On Thursday, Wall Street experienced a turbulent session, closing lower as broader market averages faced selling pressure. This decline followed a drop in jobless claims and a positive revision of GDP in the third estimate. Out of the 11 S&P sectors, nine ended the day in negative territory, with Healthcare taking the hardest hit. Conversely, Energy emerged as the strongest performer of the session, buoyed by rising oil prices. “Real GDP numbers were good, jobless claims were decent, and we didn’t see any major bad news in other areas. To me, stock weakness is just the result of some profit-taking,” noted Seeking Alpha analyst Leo Nelissen.<\/p>\n
