Traveling through airports can often be a hassle, especially when it comes to long security lines. Fortunately, several airports across the country offer free programs that allow you to skip ahead in these lines, making your journey smoother and more efficient.<\/p>\n

While many are familiar with CLEAR, a paid service costing $209 annually, there\u2019s also a free program called Reserve powered by CLEAR. This initiative is designed to help travelers bypass the security wait times without any cost.<\/p>\n

Take, for instance, the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, which features the SEA Spot Saver program. This program allows you to skip the security line if you pre-register. Simply find your flight details\u2014airline, destination, and flight number\u2014select a checkpoint and a time, and when it’s time to go through security, head to the designated SEA Spot Saver queue.<\/p>\n

Although this program was once available at nearly a dozen airports, its presence has diminished. Currently, details about programs at Newark and Houston airports are hard to find, but several other airports still offer similar services.<\/p>\n

    Important Note: No PreCheck Benefits<\/h2>\n

    It\u2019s important to note that if you have TSA PreCheck, using these free scheduling options means you will be subject to general screening. This means you\u2019ll need to remove shoes, belts, jackets, laptops, and liquids, losing the benefits of TSA PreCheck.<\/p>\n

    There\u2019s no downside to making a reservation and not showing up. When you reserve a spot, you receive a QR code that allows you to enter the faster queue. If you decide to use the CLEAR or TSA PreCheck line instead, your reservation simply expires.<\/p>\n
