Wednesday’s ETF with Unusual Volume: QABA

The First Trust NASDAQ ABA Community Bank Index Fund ETF (QABA) is experiencing a notable surge in trading activity this Wednesday afternoon. With over 227,000 shares exchanged, the trading volume significantly exceeds the three-month average of approximately 37,000 shares. Despite this heightened activity, shares of QABA are down about 2.2% for the day.

Among the ETF’s components, Eastern Bankshares is leading in trading volume, with over 2.5 million shares changing hands. However, the stock is down approximately 1.3%. Another significant player, Hancock Whitney, has seen its shares decline by about 5.4%, with trading volume surpassing 1.4 million shares. In contrast, C&F Financial is performing relatively well, showing an increase of about 1.4% on the day.
