Soybeans Posting Midday Weakness | Nasdaq

Soybeans are currently experiencing losses of 3 to 4 cents during the midday session on Monday. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price has fallen by 3 1/4 cents, now sitting at $9.35 3/4. Meanwhile, Soymeal futures have seen an increase, ranging from 80 cents to $1.80 per ton, while Soy Oil futures are down by 45 points, largely due to declines in the crude oil market.

According to the USDA, soybean export shipments reached 593,956 MT (21.82 million bushels) for the week ending September 25. This figure is 5% higher than the same week last year, although it represents a 13.1% decrease from the previous week. Germany emerged as the leading destination, importing 128,961 MT, followed by Turkey with 72,076 MT. Notably, China has yet to appear in the export report. Despite this, marketing year exports for 2025/26 have totaled 2.246 MMT (82.53 million bushels) since September 1, marking a 16.4% increase compared to the same period last year and the highest in the last five years.

Recent weekly CFTC data indicates that speculative funds in soybean futures and options have reverted to a net short position of 29,302 contracts as of Tuesday, reflecting a shift of 31,589 contracts to the short side during the week. Commercials have reduced their net short position by 27,234 contracts, now totaling 92,440 contracts, as commercial longs have increased their holdings. Additionally, managed money holds a net short position of 898 contracts in soybean oil futures and options, while their net short in soybean meal has risen to 103,269 contracts as of Tuesday. This marks the first instance since March where all three segments of the soy complex are net short.

Analysts are anticipating that the NASS will report September 1 soybean stocks at 325 million bushels in the upcoming Grain Stocks report. Estimates from Bloomberg analysts range from 295 to 366 million bushels.

AgRural has reported that the Brazilian soybean crop is 3.2% planted as of Thursday, which is ahead of the 2% recorded during the same week last year.

Nov 25 Soybeans  are currently priced at $10.10 3/4, down 3 cents.

Nearby Cash  is at $9.35 3/4, down 3 1/4 cents.

Jan 26 Soybeans  are priced at $10.29 3/4, down 3 1/4 cents.

Mar 26 Soybeans  are at $10.46, down 3 cents.
